Paczki Day 2015

Happy Fat Tuesday!  In New Orleans, that means Mardi Gras, but here in Michigan, it's Paczki Day!

WXYZ reports on this year's preparations in Getting ready for Paczki Day.

Andy does get a lot of fun location assigments.  Follow over the jump to see him in the studio to co-anchor a story about paczki on Sunday.

Like Mardi Gras, celebrating the run-up to Lent extends over several days.  The first official event is probably the Paczki Run, a 5K in Hamtramck.  The first clip shows Paczki delivered for the annual Paczki run.

Nearly a dozen boxes full of paczki are being delivered for the annual Tour de Troit paczki run.
More like a dozen dozen boxes of a dozen.  Do the math on that!

WXYZ wasn't done reporting on the Third annual Tour de Troit Paczki Run.

Looks like serious fun.  Also, the runners get to burn off some of the calories from the paczki and beer in advance.  That makes today less of a Fat Tuesday.

I may have something serious tomorrow, but don't count on it.  After all, it's Ash Wednesday, the beginning of a period of repentance.  On the other hand, Thursday is Chinese New Year, a time for celebration.  I may not be in a mood for DOOM until Friday.
