Driskell, Irwin, and Zemke to hold press conference on education funding Tuesday
This Tuesday, three Democratic nominees for Michigan House will hold a press conference in Chelsea to announce their plans for increasing funding for education.

Gretchen Driskell, Mayor of Saline and Democratic nominee for the 52nd Michigan House District, will appear with State Representative Jeff Irwin, who represents the 53rd District, and Adam Zemke, candidate for the 55th District. Driskell described the event in an announcement on Facebook Sunday.

"I'll be joining State Representative Jeff Irwin, candidate for State Representative Adam Zemke, and retired Chelsea teacher Sandy Inman at a press conference this Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. to discuss the impact that the Republicans' near-billion-dollar cuts to education is having on Michigan's students.

"As our kids head back to school for upcoming school year, we need to be doing everything we can to ensure that they're getting the quality education they deserve. Please join me on Tuesday as we work to reverse the damage the Republicans' cuts have done."
All three of the Democratic candidates make a big deal of education. The Republican incumbent Driskell is challenging doesn't, although he does mention quality of life for his constituents' children and grandchildren. No wonder they see an issue they can exploit.
